BEAMS
2013- 2014
Valuing the work of IT-Alieni, 2050 develops the project with a large partnership BEAMS, an acronym that stands for Breaking down European Attitudes towards Migrant/Minority Stereotypes, which takes up the concept and broadens its scope.
He manages to put together 15 partners from 11 different EU Member States, under the coordination of the Veneto Region, with the aim of better understand the link between popular cultural stereotypes of migrant and minority groups and discriminatory attitudes of consumers/citizens, which still hinders these groups from obtaining full citizenship rights.
2050, together with its partners, is committed to raising awareness and educating young Europeans to "stop looking and start seeing" stereotypes and the various mechanisms underlying them, and to use a conscious and critical perspective to break down the negative correlation between stereotypes and discriminatory behaviors against migrant groups and minorities.
2050 has undertaken a preliminary qualitative research phase and will then focus on engaging and activating young people in two initiatives carried out in Bologna and Venice.
