The gaze beyond

Committing to social innovation means not only being aware of changes, but also knowing how to interpret them and providing the tools to avoid being overwhelmed by them.

It means leveraging the potential within each of us to ride the wave and become active protagonists, even when these changes represent challenges.

The 2050 Team

Sandra Rainero - 2050

Sandra Rainero

President

What do I want to do when I grow up?
With this question still unanswered, I embarked on many educational and life journeys. What I always knew was that people and places had to be at the centre of the journey. This drive took me far afield for study and relationships, from Germany to the United States via London, where I specialised in linguistic and social studies before returning “home” and devoting myself to 2050. I learn by teaching, I facilitate by creating connections, I manage by trying to make sense and promote the common good. Here and now, but with an eye to the future.

Albina Usmanova

Vice President

I was born in Russia and moved to Italy when I was 20. After graduating with a degree in Languages, I started working in education, a field I have never left. Over the years, I have taught English and coordinated educational projects, working closely with students, teachers and organisations. I enjoy creating programmes that encourage reflection and critical thinking and have a real impact on those who experience them. I strongly believe in the younger generations and in the power of education. In my own small way, I try to help them develop the tools, awareness and confidence to imagine — and build — a better world.
